The journey of Wangkhei Eye Hospital began with a landmark moment in 2020—the installation of the first MS column by MGI Infra Pvt. Ltd. This marked the foundation of our dream to build a world-class eye care center in Imphal. From that first column, the vision steadily rose into reality, combining strength, precision, and purpose at every stage of construction.

Although Wangkhei Eye Hospital began its operations on 2nd May 2021, its official inauguration was held on 4th December 2022, after the challenges and restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic had eased. The grand inauguration ceremony was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, the State Health Minister, the Hon’ble Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, the local MLA of the constituency, and other respected guests. A special highlight of the event was the presence of Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee, Founder of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya (SSN), Guwahati, and the mentor of Dr. Sarungbam Bobby. Their presence marked a moment of pride and honor for the hospital, symbolizing its growth and commitment to excellence in eye care for the people of Manipur and beyond.
